🌈 Diversity, Equity &
Inclusion (DEI) Policy
Updated April 2025 by Iona Meadows
I am committed to creating a coaching space that is inclusive, equitable, and affirming for all people - especially those who have historically been under-represented, excluded, or under-served in health and wellbeing support.
I recognise that access to support is not, and has never been, equal for everyone. I do what I can to account for this within my limits.
By balancing care for others with care for myself, both energetically and financially, I strive to sustainably make a positive contribution to my community with this work.
What you need to know
It is against the law to discriminate against someone because of a protected characteristic. The nine protected characteristics are:
age
disability
gender reassignment
marriage and civil partnership
pregnancy and maternity
race
religion or belief
sex
sexual orientation
You are protected under the Equality Act 2010 from these types of discrimination.
My Approach
I actively welcome clients of all identities, including those who are neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, disabled, BIPOC, or navigating economic hardship.
My work is informed by a neurodiversity-affirming approach. I do not pathologise difference.
Accessibility
Clients can choose to meet via video, voice, or text, depending on what feels most comfortable and accessible.
My website is designed to be dyslexia-friendly, and I follow best practice web accessibility guidance.
I aim to use plain, respectful language, and I make all information, including prices and policies, clear and easy to find.
When booking, I include a form to ask whether you have any disabilities or sensitivities you would like me to know about and how I can make you most comfortable.
Equity in Practice
I provide reduced-price sessions (up to 60% off) for people who are committed to making positive change but can’t afford the full rate.
All clients can choose to add a ‘Pay-It-Forward extra’ when booking. This donation directly funds the reduced-price sessions I make available.
This model allows me to balance financial sustainability with genuine accessibility.
Ongoing Commitment
I have completed certified training in equality and diversity, and I continue to deepen my understanding of inclusive, anti-oppressive practice.
I welcome feedback and am open to learning. My goal is to co-create a coaching space that truly feels safe, welcoming, and empowering for you.
If you have feedback or suggestions on how I could make my work more inclusive or accessible, I’d love to hear from you! You can do this by sending me an email.
